Effective therapy teaches the client how to identify and manage stress and anxiety. They learn healthy coping mechanisms such as challenging negative thoughts, developing positive behavioral patterns, learning how to be mindful and developing adaptive ways to self soothe during challenging times. Many other skills are taught as well, that encourage and support the client having positive life experiences.
Couples therapy is an effective modality that teaches couples how to communicate effectively, build or rebuild trust, develop empathy, understanding and problem solve to identify the root cause of issues. This form of therapy encourages honest communication and teaches the couple how to reconnect emotionally and intimately.
Depression is the feeling of extreme sadness, low mood and energy, loss of enjoyment and interest in doing activities and having feelings of despair and hopelessness. Effective therapy allows clients to have a safe space to share their struggles. The client learns ways to challenge negative thoughts; they learn the root cause of the depressive symptoms, healthy coping mechanisms to counter and reduce symptoms and other strategies to manage stress and improve relationships.
Anger is a healthy emotion that everyone experiences from time to time, but frequent instances of anger can be harmful to your physical and mental health. Therapy teaches you how to identify your triggers, the feelings behind the anger which is usually hurt, and ways to cope and become more resilient when situations arise that cause an anger response. Clients learn techniques to induce calm ways to reframe thinking and challenge emotional responses as well as strategies to enhance life satisfaction and feelings of joy and happiness.
